Southwest Conference Golf Recap

McCook Bison boys golf team traveled to Ogallala on Thursday May 2nd to play in the Southwest Conference Golf Invitational. The Bison finished the team race with a 4th place finish of 336. Ogallala won the invite with a score of 330.

Reid Loop led the Bison finishing 3rd with a score of 77. Landon Kmoch also medaled in the event with a 7th place finish of 82. Other Bison scores included Cole Graham 88, Kolton Koetter 89, Jalen Collicott 90, and Trenton Raile 91.

Comments from Head Coach Ben Vetrovsky: “Unfortunately not one of our better team performances on a windy day in Ogallala. However, Reid Loop and Landon Kmoch had solid days, both medaling in the top 10. They were able to manage the wind and rely on their short games to bail them out when they were in tough positions. Cole, Kolton, Jalen, and Trenton all had bright spots throughout their rounds, but unfortunately took some bigger numbers to hold them back from their season averages.

We will look to regroup and we are excited to see how we progress in the last week of the regular season.”
