MCC Baseball moves Tuesday home game to Wednesday

Because of weather concerns, McCook Community College’s baseball game scheduled for Tuesday at the Jaycees Sports Complex has been moved to Wednesday, starting a 3 p.m.

MCC is 20-17 overall while Colby is 6-25.

After a four-game sweep over the weekend against Trinidad State, the Indians have moved into a second-place tie in the Empire League (Region IX). Southeast Community College is first at 14-2, MCC and Western Nebraska are tied at 12-4 and Otero Junior College is fourth at 8-7.

MCC Coach Jon Olsen has added a Thursday game at Crete when MCC will play the Doane University JV at 1 p.m.

This weekend, MCC hosts last-place Luna Community College (1-15, 2-36) in a four-game series with doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday starting both days at 1 p.m.

After this weekend, MCC has two remaining Region IX series. MCC travels Western Nebraska April 26 for two games then return home for two games against the Cougars April 28 at 1 p.m. The Region IX schedule concludes May 4-5 as MCC travels to Beatrice for a pair of doubleheaders against Southeast Community College.
